The challenges in the battlefield for the caregiver are vast. From the various types of wounds such as gunshots, blast and laceration injuries, to the harsh condition in the field such as stress, noise, rough terrain, distance from a proper medical facility, and lack of proper medical equipment. The military environment is the most difficult and unforgiving scenario of all. According to the US Department of Defense, bleeding accounts for 84% of all preventable battlefield deaths.  Approximately 33%  of all deaths were tourniquetable and 67% were non-compressional/non-turniquetable. (Kelly et al., 2008). The ideal hemostat must conform to the different types of injuries, easy to apply, self-activating, extremely efficient in bleeding control and natural in its mode of action to avoid complications and unwanted reactions to the injured.

WoundClot is designed to form into any shape. Prior to application, it can be folded or rolled. WoundClot will conform to the shape of the wound by placing the gauze directly on the wound and the subsequent formation of a gel state.

The WoundClot Trauma Gauze is intended for bleeding control of traumatic wounds, including moderate to severe bleeding applications.

Hemodynamic Gel

WoundClot is designed to maintain its integrity through polymeric chains, specifically designed to interact with water molecules to form a physical cross linked network, which is manageable and natural.

Adhere to the Wound

The ability to adhere to a bleeding wound reduces the amount of pressure needed in order to stop bleeding, thus preventing
un necessary damage the body caused by excessive pressure, or infection caused by prolonged contact with the wound.

Encourage Coagulation

coagulation is a complex chain reaction, where different elements are motivated into action, conditioned from other reactions. The ability to influence these reactions speeds the whole
coagulation process.
